We feel that one of the most difficult lessons is one that we can learn from animals. That is, the reality of impermanence.
We are honored to be a part of an animal's transition, offering a calm, peaceful experience that alleviates pain and suffering.

About Dr. curtis
Dr. Curtis graduated from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities with a bachelor’s degree in Fisheries, Wildlife & Conservation Biology, with a focus in wildlife biology and pre-veterinary sciences. She attended veterinary school at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in Saint Kitts, an island of the West Indies. She spent two and a half years on the island of Saint Kitts where she was able to provide care for injured stray animals and perform castrations to help reduce the population of strays on the island. She was involved with monitoring nesting sites of leatherback sea turtles and treating vervet monkeys on the island. She then went on to complete large & small animal clinical rotations at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, graduating with high honors.
Dr. Curtis began practicing small animal medicine in Orange County, California as an Associate Veterinarian for a large corporate veterinary hospital in 2016. She soon recognized a need for house-calls and video consultations for her senior and fearful patients. In 2019 she formed a mobile veterinary practice, Home Wellness for Pets, where she saw large and small animals for immunizations, castrations, infections, pain management, hospice, and palliative care. She quickly noted a dramatic improvement in her patients’ comfort and stress level when seeing them in their own environment.
Dr. Curtis moved back to Minnesota in 2021 where she formed the mobile veterinary practice Cosmic Light to help animals with End-of-Life care where they feel most at ease, at home. Dr. Curtis is happy to be back in her home state of Minnesota, where she now specializes in hospice and palliative care.
Dr. Curtis is a member of the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association, the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care, is the Board Secretary for the Minnesota Veterinary Historical Museum and is certified in Pet Loss & Grief Companioning.
When Dr. Curtis is not seeing house-calls or consulting she enjoys time downhill skiing as well as indoor activities such as painting, making candles, making cheese and cooking with her husband (a veterinary surgeon), and their 4 dogs Felix, Harley, Grover & Bailey.
